Hello,

I have been told that I definaley have an endocrine problem which is affecting my mucsles etc.

My blood tests show very high levels of androstenedione and high Calcium. She aksed if Id been on steriods I obviously said no and also we spoke about my skin being so thin and how my symptoms are much worse with food. We discussed teh possibility of food induced cushings as my results are fluctating with the diet which I feel a bit better on. She said i do have cushingoid symptoms but I dont look cushing's. I said when i do eat normally I get smothered in ance, face puffy, sweat all the time, agressive, emotional, cant sleep, panic atatcks, distended belly, constipation, either retaining water or dehydrated, fluctauating muscle weakness and spasm..chronic candidas

She said its rare but we need you to come in for testsing and observations!!

She also mentioned parathyroid, having a thyroid scan and the possbility of a gland disorder as i explained my sister is having simular symptoms.

So I have made a massive jump in th eright direction at last..

Hope your all okay

Hi Mandy, That's good news - they are taking your symptoms very seriously. Lucky you. I hope you find some answers. Let us know.

Good luck, Dee (the same 'Dee' from the Celiac and the Thyroid Forum - lol, we get around :) ).

Hi Mandy
At last! Hopefully you week in hospital will bring some satisfactory results & then a road to recovery. Let us know how it all goes. Thinking of you & sending you a big hug.x
Hormonal disorders began 1978. Cushings symptoms presented in 1988. After years of mis-diagnosis, self-diagnosed (Woman magazine) 2000. Confirmed as cyclical Cushings 2002. Transphenoidal surgery to remove pituitary tumour. 5 years on hydrocortisone, then 12 month withdrawal, now medication free. Type II diabetes caused by Cushings.

Hi Mandy,

That is great news. At last they are taking you seriously. Keep us updated as to how you get on. Make the most of the rest. If you have internet access when you are in hospital, let us know. I will hopefully have a live chat room set up by then and you could chat with the members here if you need a bit of company.

Good luck,

Paul
